Welcome.

This course is either a fourth science course or an elective depending on the graduation program the student is in. It is a lab-based course composed of around 50 labs. It covers concepts in physics as applied to four energy systems - mechanical, fluid, electrical, and thermal. It is a course designed mainly for TED students, to prepare them with the necessary skills and tools required in today's technical/vocational, and engineering careers.

Course Description:

This one-year physics course is an ideal option to increase student perofrmance through contextual learning. Its goal is to break the "physics barrier" by helping both the middle majority and top 25% of students learn physics. Students explore how physics applies to real-life situations while developing the problem-solving skills that are necessary in today's workforce.

Principles of Technology / Physics in Context uniquely teaches traditional physics concepts in the context of their relationship to the four energy systems-mechanical, fluid, electrical, and thermal. Principles of Technology/ Physics in Context  is a course that gives students the tools they will need to adapt to the changing environments they will face on the job.
